22 ^aThe sons of Shem were ^bElam and Asshur and ^cArpachshad and ^dLud and Aram. 23 The sons of Aram were ^eUz and Hul and Gether and Mash. 24 Arpachshad ^{▼▼ Lit begot}became the father of ^gShelah; and Shelah ^{▼▼ Lit begot}became the father of Eber. 25 ⁱTwo sons were born to Eber; the name of the one was ^{▼▼ I.e. division}Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.
